The Home™ Boarding Experience
Home™ enables students to experience accountable responsibility in a
safe, structured, and monitored educational environment. Students at
Home™acquire essential learning and working habits that encourage
the natural development of individual talent, self-organization and
time-management. Through teamwork, they learn advanced communication
skills in a miniature society based on friendship and family- all
under the guidance of an international team of educationalists and
mentors of the highest caliber.
-
A Novel Concept in Education At traditional boarding schools, students study in the same compound
in which they live. Their classmates are the same colleagues that
share their rooms, dining table, and their life after school hours.
Their teachers at school are the same individuals that supervise
them in their dormitories. In short, traditional boarding school
conditions do not resemble by any measure the normal life settings
of a student living at home with his or her parents. One of the
greatest misconceptions about traditional boarding schools is that
students develop independence, when in reality, limiting conditions
drive students into automation and reliance on preset factors. Home™
is a novel concept that dares to challenge these traditional
boarding school settings by placing students in similar life
conditions to those they would experience at home.
-
Home™ away from Home
Home™ is a boarding program that enables students to experience
school life as though they were living at home. That is, during the
day, students attend a day school, only to return after school hours
to an independent housing facility that meets the highest standards
of safety and security, and that resembles their home. At this Home™,
students live with mentors that perform day-to-day parental duties,
with the added advantage of having academic and disciplinary support
provided to them by a team of highly trained educators.
-
Third Parent™
Home™ is managed and supervised by
C-Pi® educators referred to as
Third Parents™. The use of this term is not casual; rather these
specialist teachers become akin to ‘Third Parents’ to their
students, living with them at Home™, catering to their day-to-day
needs, visiting their school regularly to follow-up on detailed
academic and social progress, and providing them with a supporting
home-schooling program that emphasizes character-building and
empowerment at its very core.
-
Continuous Academic and Social Follow-up
At Home™, each student is assigned a C-Pi® educational consultant
that acts as the student's schooling guardian, to follow-up on the
student’s detailed academic and social progress. Feedback collected
on school visits is passed on to the student's Third Parents™ at
Home™, along with an extensive home-schooling package individually
designed to boost the student's academic achievement.
-
Home-Schooling Program
The C-Pi® Home-Schooling Program is a tailor-made course of tuition,
designed and implemented by a team of subject specialists and
academicians to maximize a student’s achievement whether in British,
American, or local curricula. This program does not stop at ensuring
that homework is completed, and that exams are prepared and planned
for. Rather, C-Pi® steps beyond to empower its students, training
them in essential study habits, learning techniques, communication
skills, and positive social attributes, ethics, and morals.
-
Character building and Empowerment
As an inherent aspect of its structure, Home™ provides its students
with the opportunity to establish independence, responsibility,
organization, and time management as core characteristics of their
personality, transforming their perception of education from an
unpleasant chore into a natural and enjoyable way of life.
-
Age Groups and Facilities
Admission to Home™ is open to students aged 8-17 years. Boys and
girls (supervised by female teachers) live in separate facilities,
and are grouped in separate dormitories according to age. Dormitory
rooms may accommodate up to a maximum of two students, and come with
a refrigerator, multi-channel satellite TV system (monitored). C-Pi®
provides its boarding students with three meals daily and weekly
laundry and housekeeping. In addition to the round-the-clock
monitoring and supervision by Third Parents™, each facility enjoys
24-hour internal security.
-
Available Schooling Systems C-Pi® offers various combinations of
IB, British, and American
curricula. Most Home™ graduates pursue their university education in
the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Over recent
years, many school graduates have opted alternatively to remain in
the UAE to study at American, Australian, and European universities
established locally. Whatever the parents’ choice of curriculum,
C-Pi® will create a detailed life education plan for its Home™
students, and will provide dedicated academic support and follow-up
to ensure its delivery and success.
-
Extracurricular Activities, Competitions, and Trips
The true strength of Home™ lies in its essence. In keeping with the
fact that educational and social development go hand in hand, Home™
is based on the natural structure of family, so that students and
their teachers interact together during curricular and
extracurricular activities. Students and educators at Home™
participate together in recreational activities that run after
school hours. Home™ provides a vibrant program that includes poetry
fairs, art shows, science exhibitions, games, competitive league
sports (basketball, swimming, horse-riding etc), painting and
artwork, music and singing, computer and technology clubs and much
more. During the evenings, visits are organized to leisure and
cultural locations around Dubai and Sharjah, with weekend trips to
other parts of the United Arab Emirates.
-
Visas and Residence Permits Initially C-Pi® will arrange visit visas for its Home™ students and
their parents. Upon registration, C-Pi® will then arrange residence
permits for all its students and their parents, allowing students to
pursue their education in the UAE, and allowing their parents to
visit them as often as they would like.
